We aim to make a difference

Our company was founded because we believe there is an obligation to reduce the environmental impact that the beverage packing industry has on the global environment.

plastics are bad for nature

This is happening right now

The problem with plastic bottles

Plastic pollution is one of the biggest problems on our planet right now. All over the world, beverages and other liquids are traditionally stored in and consumed out of plastic bottles. Globally 560 million liters of bottled water is sold every day. These bottles find their way into the nature mainly due to a lack of efficient recycling infrastructure.

Single use plastic bottles cause major problems to our planets wildlife. It has been estimated that 8 million tons of plastic ends up in the oceans alone, per year. Plastic is not biodegradable, and when it ends up in the wild for hundreds of years, releasing toxic micro particles that are harmfull to wildlife in all levels of the food web, nature and humans.

Things could be better

We aim to make a difference. Our company cannot fix everything, but we can help the beverage industry move to greener packaging solutions. This already has a positive impact.

This is what we are trying to fix

The beverage industry uses too much plastic

Every year, 400 million tons of plastic are produced of which 40% is disposable. These include plastic bags, many beverage packaging and potato chip bags. One of the largest industries using disposable plastics is the beverage industry.

Bottles are not efficient in logistics

The shape of plastic bottles is inefficient for transport. There is a lot of empty space between the bottles, which means that one truck can hold fewer bottles. This results in more transportation, which has a negative impact on the environment

User friendliness

Carrying large amounts of large plastic bottles from the store can be challenging and frustrating. Large bottles don't fit all refrigerators and to fill a glass with a drink, the bottle must first be removed from the refrigerator. We try to solve this problem with our packaging.

Plastic bottles end up in landfills and the environment

Even though plastic bottles are made from polyethylene terephthalate (PET), which is highly recyclable, most plastic bottles produced end up in landfills, nature or in the ocean. Microplastic in nature is ingested by birds, fish and other organisms causing problems for all living things.

Plastic bottles increase waste disposal traffic

Used bottles cause a lot of waste traffic even if they are crashed or part of a circulating system. Empty bottles still take a lot of space when they are transported to landfill or further handling.

The negative impact of humans on the environment

People have a negative impact on the environment in many ways: overpopulation, pollution, using fossil fuels, and deforestation. Things lead to climate change, soil erosion, poor air quality and undrinkable water.

We brought together Finnish CEOs, designers and beverage business professionals and gave them a challenge...

Design the world's most environment friendly beverage package ever made.

NWB Bevel

NWB Bevel package fixes the biggest problems in usability, logistics and recycling

72% less plastic

The plastic required to produce NWB Bevel is 72% less than PET alternatives.

35% less space

Our NWB Bevel is designed to make the most efficient use of the transport space. Compared to a standard PET bottle, NWB Bevel requires up to 35% less space for transport and storage.

90% less waste transportation

NWB Bevel is easy to recycle and the waste volume is much less than a bottle. There is no packaging waste from secondary packaging or additional in-between support materials on a pallet.

More efficient to produce

NWB Bevel is designed with the modular approach: two matching packs form a 2-pack unit, which is stackable and fills the euro-pallet perfectly. There is no need for a secondary cardboard box as in traditional BiB packaging. This makes the production line simpler and faster.

Less toxic to the environment

NWB Bevel uses less plastic and is easy to recycle, which reduces its environmental impact. You just remove the bag from the box. The bags are light and the volume is much less than a bottle. The box can be folded and circulated after use.

Easier to use

NWB Bevel is easier to use than a regular plastic bottle. All NWB Bevel pack sizes fit in the fridge, keeping the liquid cooler and it is convenient to use straight from the shelf.
